Faith, Innovation, and Excellence in Software Engineering
My Journey
I was born in the USSR and immigrated to the US at age four. After a decade running an award-winning construction business in Seattle (including being named one of Angie's List's "Best Three Contractors" in 2010), I discovered my passion for software engineering and made the leap in 2015.
Since then, I've spent over nine years at my current company, growing from junior developer to team lead. I've helped modernize our infrastructure and lead our high-traffic backend platform. But equally important to me is the volunteer work—I've dedicated hundreds of hours building mobile apps, backend systems, and AI tools for my local church.
The defining moment of my life was when the Lord started drawing me to Himself at 30, leading to my born-again conversion a few years later. This transformation reshaped everything—my priorities, my purpose, and how I approach my work. Now living in North Idaho with my wife of 18 years and our four children, I spend my time with my family, studying Scripture, serving at my church, and writing code.
Five Solas Engineering represents my commitment to building software with integrity, excellence, and a heart to serve—reflecting the principles that guide my faith and work.
The Five Solas
The name "Five Solas Engineering" is inspired by the five foundational principles of the Protestant Reformation, which represent my core Christian beliefs:

These principles guide not only my faith but also my approach to software engineering—building with excellence, integrity, and a commitment to serving others through technology.
